Hello! I’m a freelance communicator, specialising in writing, audio editing and strategic storytelling.

After more than 20 years as a radio producer at the ABC, I created KTB Communications with a passion to help others share their knowledge and ideas. And to tell stories!

Writing profile pieces is my sweet spot, which I’ve recently been doing for a university publication and school.

I also get really excited helping people work out what they want to say and how to say it best.

My ability to drill down into the essence of a story, person or business allows me to create compelling content that engages – be it on paper, platform or in person. I help you identify your purpose, your passion and your promotable content, and ensure you express it well too!

Output includes everything from media releases and social media posts to website copy, video scripts and more. (It’s worth nothing that I have UX copywriting training and a handy swag of media contacts!)

I have no niche. In fact, I’m addicted to diversity. And I’m well accustomed to adjusting the tone as required. Creating hours of diverse radio listening gave me lots of practice at that.

My speciality is drawing out information, which is very handy when writing feature stories, articles, profiles, website copy, branding documents or recording someone’s life story (which I do for A Lasting Tale). I also have access to a cameraman and can create and curate visual content if that’s what you’re after. Plus, I edit for PodTalk.

Heads up, busy designers and marketers! I’ve been called upon to refine the wording on multiple Branding Strategies and I LOVE it.

And heads up Musos! Music is a lifelong passion and I’m loving working with creatives to help them get heard – creating big meaty bios full of talking points, leading workshops on presentation, and guiding them on how to target the media. (As a lapsed muso myself, I’ve been on both sides of the promotional fence.) I’m also honing my music journalism skills on the side, inspired by my inclusion in SA’s inaugural Music Writer’s Lab.
